JOIN THE GREEN REVOLUTION!

Green Revolution web
Green Revolution is a hot new traveling show from the Smithsonian—an eco-friendly, minimal carbon footprint exhibition selected to compliment Denison’s 2013-14 campus theme Real Utopias: From Dreams to Practice. Denison Museum is partnering with Newark’s The Works to educate our Central Ohio community about the three pillars of sustainability: environment, society, and economy. We seek creative and engaging design proposals for low carbon footprint ‘eco-zibits’ that align with broad themes likes Carbon Footprint, Waste Not, Energy, Hybrid House, Composting and Gardening, and Green Jobs/Green Pioneers.

This version of Green Revolution is based on an exhibition originally created by the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago and its Black Creativity Council and is made available by Smithsonian Institution Traveling Service.

Check out the Exhibition Prospectus for information about themes and criteria and submit your Proposal online by Oct. 11, 2013. A final list of ‘eco-zibit’ projects (juried by Denison faculty, students and staff) will be announced no later than Oct. 18, 2013. Volunteers are needed to assemble the winning mini eco-exhibits from Oct. 21-Dec. 6. To volunteer and join the revolution, contact Sherry Harlacher at Denison Museum. Denison’s Green Revolution will be on display from February 20 – May 17, 2014.

“My internship at the Denison Museum was an invaluable part of my Denison University experience. While my courses gave me the academic foundation I needed to succeed after graduation, the Denison Museum supplemented that foundation with relevant professional experience.”
